plural of bank

In the survival kit lesson “Life in the City”, the plural of banks is presented as die Bänke.  This appears to be commonly used when referring to die Bank as a bench, but die Banken seems to be commonly used when referring to the plural of the financial institutions.

Is the plural of die Bank shown as die Bänke intended?

You are right, it certainly looks like a mistake that proof reading missed. In Duden, Bänke is the plural form of die Bank - bench and Banken is plural for die Bank - finanical institution.

I wonder if it a mistake that Germans sometimes make.

HI All

One learns something ever day. Never picked that up. My German penfriend is scathing about some of the German she hears. She is from the Hanover region and speaks a high form of German. Useful for me, as she sends me corrections and writes in basic German for me to read.

I'm a long way from being capable of writing a full email.

keep well
